Kelly’s Pet Care owners Kelly and Ross Levy bring their four legged clients to run and play off-leash at the 3 acre park. Recently the City of Los Angeles limited the number of dogs a person is allowed to bring to a dog park to three creating a debate among dog walkers and some dog owners using the parks. Dog walkers say they buy pooper scoopers and hoses and press for park improvements. Both sides demand more regulation, such as special permits and hours when the dog walkers can use the parks. LA City Council member Wendy Greuel hugs Peter Calderon, brother of Alvaro Ely Calderon, as LAPD Captain Jon Peters hugs Beulah Sakai, sister of Alvaro Ely Calderon, after a press conference at the Los Angeles Police Department North Hollywood Division. The press conference was held to announce a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the January 25, 2008 murder of Alvaro Ely Calderon. Calderon was walking near the intersection of Strathern St and Bellaire Ave in North Hollywood at approximately 11:30 PM when he was shot in the upper torso killing him. Witnesses reported seeing a white 4-door compact vehicle fleeing the scene.    (Hans Gutknecht/Staff Photographer)

A  Chacoan peccary baby, born on Friday May 1, 2009,  makes it's way around their enclosure at the Los Angeles Zoo Friday May 8, 2009. The Chacoan peccary is a distant relative of the wild boar and are native to Bolivia, Argentina and Paraguay. The Los Angeles Police Department, community and family members of fallen officers, gathered at the Los Angeles Police Acadeamy to honor LAPD Officers killed in the line of duty.  The Memorial Ceremony featured a “Walk of Heroes” procession, a twenty-one rifle volley, the “missing man” formation helicopter fly-over, bagpipers playing Amazing Grace and buglers playing Taps. Officers also place a single rose in a memorial pool to commemorate each of the officers killed in the line of duty. (Hans Gutknecht/Staff Photographer)
