Victoria was one of the area's all-time great distance runners when she competed at Chaminade and Alemany in the late 1970s and early '80s, winning Southern Section and state titles. Pierce College Environmental Tech Team students  Daniel Mehta, Amy Nemeth, Chelsea Young, Brendan Oster, Dillon Nefcyand Jordan Woods. Recently the Woodland Hills school became the only community college in the nation and one of four universities in California to get one of 43 coveted EPA People, Prosperity and Planet grants to tackle global environmental challenges.
