Birds swarm Steve Hessong as he prepares to feed them. For the past 41/2 years Hessong drives from his home in La Canada almost morning to Lake Balboa in at Anthony C. Beilenson Park to fish, feed the birds and a squirrel named Scotty.  They call him “The Birdman of Balboa” and dishes out 10-pounds of duck pellets and chicken scratch each visit.
